update:
YA Logistics Motorsport Department are please to announce that
we have completed another World Rally championship roro project
for Rally Cyprus 2009.
This being our 7th year chartering roro vessel for top WRC manufacture’s/Junior
teams/Productions teams/ and all other support agency’s.

We loaded in the port of Savona (Italy) on the 2nd March 2009 53
rolling units with total vehicles including all rally cars of 100.
The sailing time for Savona – Limassol 6 days in good weather/
however on route: vessel encountered some heavy seas for 3 days,
with the cargo being of very high value and in the interest of cargo
arriving for the rally in good shape we sent message to the master
to tack away from the bad weather in order to protect to the maximum.
The cargo arrived in good order in to Limassol where we were only
a few hrs late.
Teams arrived to unload there Rally vehicles and to set up the service
park in time for the Rally of Cyprus 2009.

After the Rally which ended on the 15th March 2009, in which Mr
Sebastien Loeb won the rally/ with a good third place going to privateer
Petter Solberg in a Citroen Xara 2006.
After breaking down the service park and packing away all equipment/
including the rally cars all trucks headed for the port Sunday night/
with loading to roro on Monday 16th March 2009.
For the return we where under pressure for the vessel to arrive
back to Savona on schedule because teams had only a short time to
rebuild the rally cars before the next Rally which is Portugal.
On the return vessel had a good run back did encounter bad weather
but this was only for a day which did not affect the schedule and
vessel arrived on time on 21st March and was unloaded by the teams
who immediately departed for the their home base to get ready for
the next Rally.

Thanks to the team at YA,
Bill Ruff/ Tom Steel/ Gary Lusty
Who will no doubt look forward to the next roro opportunity in 2010.
